Vision Correction for Various Conditions

People with high prescriptions or irregularly shaped corneas can have trouble finding the perfect pair of contact lenses for their unique situation.

As part of your comprehensive contact lens exam and fitting, we will assess your eyes and vision, and work to find lenses that meet your needs.

We have been able to find comfortable, clear vision through contact lenses for people with the following conditions.

Our Specialty Contact Lenses

We stock a variety of specialty contact lenses, including scleral lenses, hybrid lenses, toric lenses, and more, to suit a broad range of eye conditions and prescriptions.

During your contact lens exam, we will let you know if we recommend any specialty contact lenses based on your prescription or eye shape. As well, if you have specific concerns or conditions, such as dry eye, which makes standard contact lenses uncomfortable, we can discuss our specialty options with you.

Here are just a few of the lens types we offer:

Scleral lenses are rigid gas-permeable lenses that work well for people with irregularly shaped corneas or conditions, such as keratoconus and dry eye. We carry Zenlens scleral lenses by Bausch + Lomb.

Scleral lenses vault over the cornea and rest on the sclera (the white part of the eye) instead of on the cornea like traditional contact lenses. The space between the cornea and the scleral lens is filled with a saline solution, which provides clear vision and continuous moisture during wear. Individuals with dry eye disease may find them more comfortable than standard contact lenses.

Hybrid lenses offer the clarity of rigid gas-permeable (RGP) lenses and the comfort of soft contact lenses.

We offer Duette lenses by SynergEyes, available in regular or multifocal varieties. These lenses have an RGP center for clear vision and a soft, silicone hydrogel skirt for improved comfort.

For patients with keratoconus or irregular corneas, KeraSoft Thin can offer a soft, comfortable option. The thinner design and flexibility of KeraSoft allow for comfortable all-day wear.

Many lenses for irregular corneas are of a more rigid variety. KeraSoft provides a soft contact lens option for people with keratoconus or other corneal irregularities.

More than 80% of patients who wear UltraHealth lenses rated themselves “happy” or “very happy” with their results.

These lenses are a hybrid variety, meaning they have a rigid gas-permeable center and a soft skirt to sit comfortably on the eye while providing clear vision. The lens’s vaulted design provides space for the majority of corneal irregularities, helping many people with keratoconus wear contact lenses comfortably.

For those with astigmatism, SpecialEyes are an option. SpecialEyes are soft, toric lenses that are fully customizable. They are made-to-order and created especially for you.

These lenses are also useful for people with very high prescriptions. The custom aspect means that your prescription is almost always an option.

CooperVision’s MiSight 1 day are FDA-approved contact lenses specially designed for myopia management in children. They are soft, daily disposable contact lenses that are suitable for children as young as 8 years old.
